The Iowa Department of Public Safety wishes to provide an anonymous reporting tool that will assist in protecting schools and the citizens of Iowa. An early threat/behavior reporting tool will allow possible threats to be identified prior to harmful or catastrophic events taking place, as well as to allow students and adults to share information with school officials and law enforcement about threats to student safety. These threats include self-harm/suicide, student mental health, sexual abuse/harassment, illicit drugs, or any concern that negatively affects the learning environment. DPS designated employees will engage in two-way communication with the reporting party in an effort to gather additional information, but the reporting party can choose to remain anonymous or provide their contact information. The information received will be processed by the DPS School Safety Communication Specialist and directed to the correct area of need.

The Iowa Department of Public Safety seeks to purchase an anonymous web-based reporting platform with a State of Iowa-branded cell phone application (“app”), designed for students and the general public to report concerns about school safety on a 24-hour basis.
